High School Courses at INGDA Are NCAA-Approved

We’re proud to announce that the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) has officially approved credit-bearing high school courses at Indiana Gateway Digital Academy (INGDA).
INGDA caters to a diverse community of learners through engaging, personalized online learning. With NCAA-approved courses, student-athletes can prepare to meet the academic requirements for college sports.
“Earning NCAA approval for our high school courses is a validation of the hard work of the staff at INGDA. NCAA approval gives students an opportunity to continue their academic and athletic career at the next level,” says Executive Director Dr. Jamey Callane.
Preparing Students for Academic and Athletic Success
Approved high school courses at INGDA meet the high academic standards set by the NCAA, ensuring that student-athletes are prepared for the rigor of college coursework and meet the academic requirements for NCAA eligibility.
Reaching NCAA eligibility ensures your child can compete in collegiate sports and receive athletic scholarships and financial aid.
The NCAA’s eligibility requirements are:
- Graduate from high school
- Complete a minimum of 16 approved NCAA core courses
- Earn a minimum GPA in core courses
- Earn a qualifying test score on the SAT or ACT
- Request a final amateurism certification from the NCAA Eligibility Center
There are additional requirements for Division I student-athletes.
Special Programs Administrator Joel Sienicki notes, “As a former NCAA athlete myself, knowing that INGDA, a school in its infancy, has been accredited with the NCAA fills me with pride. Our school is doing amazing things for each student, regardless of what their goals are for their future. As our mission statement says, we are preparing students to enroll, enlist, and gain employment. This is another step toward our school’s goals to provide for the needs of the individual student.”
Flexible Online Learning for Student-Athletes
Beyond NCAA-approved courses, INGDA offers student-athletes the flexibility to practice and train. Our personalized learning approach empowers students to learn anywhere, anytime, as long as they have an internet connection.
We also help student-athletes manage their time effectively to balance both athletics and academics. Nevertheless, our licensed teachers always provide support, instruction, and guidance to ensure students stay on track for graduation.
We’ll leave you with some words from High School Assistant Principal Brittany Stahl. She exclaims, “Getting NCAA-approved is so exciting for our Digital Dragons. The approval allows our student-athletes to earn collegiate scholarships and compete at the next level … giving them a clear path to pursue their athletic and academic dreams after graduation. Go Dragons!”
